Windows 10: Strange behaviour with apostrophe/quotation mark key on English US layout keyboard for...

Whenever I type either an apostrophe or quotation mark on this keyboard it's the same key I'm getting a strange result. Unlike with other keys, the mark doesn't appear until after I type the next character. I've looked in the Time & Language > Typing settings and turned off all the options for auto-correction and text suggestions. Any ideas on how I can turn this setting off? I'm finding it somewhat disruptive when typing.

Quotation marks + apostrophes are curly (“) by default instead of regular (") quotation marks and apostrophes (Notion)

When typing in Notion, instead of inputting regular quotation marks and apostrophes when the respective keys are pressed I get curly quotation marks and curly apostrophes instead

Changing the keyboard layout/language has not solved the problem, neither has using a different user account

This could potentially be caused due to an accidentally inputted keyboard shortcut? Though I'm not sure about that. I've seen Ctrl + Shift + ' suggested before, but that didn't fix the issue.

This is very strange, you have a standard keyboard layout and the correct language installed (US English), If you add a new keyboard layout (US International) then type Apostrophe and then Space, does that type the apostrophe?

 

Quotation Marks Doubled

Suddenly, when in the middle of a document, my Word for Windows 10 started making two quotation marks, or two apostrophes, when I hit the key.

What did I do?
