Windows 10: Strange changes to the icons

Hello, I have strange changes to the icons on my desktop. The little arrow icon the shortcut arrow on the bottom left corner sometimes changes to another random icon or even disappears. I don't know what is causing the problem, it happens completely randomly. Sometimes a few days or even a week is fine, sometimes 2-3 times a day the icons change. I asked friends and none of them have such a problem. They haven't even seen such a bug.I'm using Windows 11 upgraded last year from Windows 10. In general, the operating system runs perfectly, I have no other complaints. Win11 is better than Win1

So create system restore? And what to do? How changed? Via registry editor i cant see explorer device icon!!!!

How you changed.??? In registry editor i dont have folder DriverIcon! No shows Driver letters nothing! I see in youtube on human pc shows driver letters.

Strange Shadow type Icon/Image Windows 10

Hi VidhuGour,

In order to help you with your concern about the strange shadow, icon or image on your Windows 10 screen, you may check and access the icon using the File Explorer of your Windows 10 PC. Follow these steps:

• Click the File Manager icon from the taskbar.
• Click This PC.
• Click the Desktop folder.
• It should show you that strange desktop icon and its corresponding File name.
  

If it doesn't show, you may try changing your wallpaper into a darker type and see if the strange figure would still be there. If it is, then it might be a dead pixel that you currently have on your screen.

Cannot change desktop icon

Sometimes a desktop icon changes from what it was to a plain white folder. Might be something I did but not sure what.

To change it to the icon I want, I go:

1. Rt-click icon > Properties > Change icon
2. I select the icon I want from the thumbnails of icons.
3. Click OK
4. Click Apply

But the icon does not change. It just stays looking like a white folder.
HOWEVER, if I pin the icon to the taskbar, the icon on the taskbar does look like the icon I selected in step-2. So the change is registered with Win10 but the icon on the desktop just doesn't change.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
