    Strange colours when capturing screen with HDR turned on


    Here you can see how the colours become more and more grey with each iteration, and unfortunately this also applies to the final image in the recorded video.As you can see, OBS is detecting that I am using HDR.Discord has a similar problem, but the colours become darker.Here are my specs all updates for windows are installed:

    tower PC .. windows 10 pro regularly updated.. version 20H2 os build..19042.1288
    monitor LG 55in tv resolution 4096x2160 (hdr compatible)

    On diplay settings page.. use HDR toggle switch is set to off.. (not greyed out)..
    When I click to on.. the screen goes black for 1 second then as the picture reappears..
    I see the toggle switch back to off..
    I have checked the DXDIAG log and HDR is ok.. (log attached) and in the registry (video settings) value 1
    Any suggestions anyone?

    Can’t clone HDR monitor to 4K capture card on 2nd pc

    Hello, I'm A&K, here to help.

    Due to some limitations of HDR technology, you cannot turn on HDR while cloning your screen.

    If your capture card supports HDR, you can use the capture card loop-out feature to make HDR work, i.e. connect your GPU to the capture card first, and then connect the capture card to your screen.

    If your capture card does not support HDR loopout, you cannot enable HDR while cloning your monitor.

    Can’t clone HDR monitor to 4K capture card on 2nd pc

    I’m trying to setup a 2 pc system for streaming. My gaming monitor is HDR 4K 144hz, and I’m trying to clone that to a 4K capture card on my 2nd pc.

    When I clone the gaming monitor (#1) to the capture card (monitor #2), hdr is automatically turned off the gaming monitor. The cloned image will successfully show on the capture card, but I would like to obviously keep hdr on the main screen.

    Windows and hardware drivers for all components are up to date.
