Windows 10: Strange "Connection-specific DNS Suffix" showing ipconfig

A short time ago, one of those 'Fake' Your-computer-has-a-Virus type pop-ups happened, and I pressed <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Del>, ended the Microsoft Edge task and Restarted the laptop.Fast-forward a week or so, during which time everything "appears" to be working correctly on the laptop, and I noticed the following entry in the "ipconfig" readout:Ethernet adapter Ethernet: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : D3-WDS12.COMWhy is an Ethernet adapter showing on the laptop when it exclusively uses Wi-Fi?Using some limited troub

What is "Connection-specific DNS Suffix:" for and how to change it

I have a netgear DSL modem which has hardcoded into it a domain name "netgear.com". When I run IPCONFIG /all I see that the domain name from the modem is showing up in the "Connection-specific DNS Suffix:" field and the "DNS Suffix Search List. . . . .
. :" field as "netgear.com". The "netgear.com" info is also used in the "Tunnel adapter isatap.netgear.com:. Here is the rest of the adapters info:

The internet has been a little slower and I occasionally get DNS errors, but in general things are OK. Do I need to be concerned about the "netgear.com" entry? What would you recommend?

 

Primary Dns Suffix and Connection-specific DNS Suffix are blanked

After I've tried every answer.

For some reason ipconfig /all returns blanks where Primary Dns Suffix and Connection-specific DNS Suffix should be.

Is there another way to know my proxy server details?

 

Trouble accessing Primary DNS number

I have followed the necessary steps to find my Primary DNS number however, when I get there, there is nothing listed. It will say "Connection-Specific DNS Suffix:" with nothing to follow. Is there any other way it can be found other then the Win+R >> cmd
>> ipconfig? Or what do I need to do to make it show up there?
