Windows 10: Strange cumulative update installation process.

Hello. I am using an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-534E laptop with windows 11 21h2. I have a question about the cumulative update installation process. I will describe it in detail. So, I download the cumulative update from windows update and start rebooting to install. I get a black screen with a percentage of the installation progress. When the installation percentage gets to about 50 or 60 percent, the laptop suddenly reboots and my welcome window appears. But then the welcome screen disappears and the screen suddenly appears again with the installation process which goes from 50-60 to 100 almost

Hello. Yes, after installing the update, the assembly of Windows changes. And yes, I can log in without any problems, but it confuses me that the laptop reboots right during the installation of the update, which is strange. This happens during the installation of the required and optional monthly cumulative Windows updates.

Tell me, is this behavior of the laptop during the update normal? I remember that about 6 months ago I didn't have this. My laptop did not restart during the update installation.

A large chunk of every update, when packaged internally, has to do with discovering the update, preparing for a rollback, and code to install the update. When you take that waste and spread it over 10+ updates, the update process is very inefficient with the only advantage being that IT professionals can be selective about updates.

I welcome cumulative updates because it vastly simplifies the update process. Updating Windows 7 especially is tedious from a clean SP1 install. It's curious that they are doing this though because the platform is being transitioned to life support soon. I think rollup updates are sufficient.
