Windows 10: Strange error message when launching Windows 10

Something rather strange appears to have happened on my Windows 10 PC. Since yesterday, I cannot launch Windows 10 at all and instead the following error message is displayed:GRUB error, Invalid arch-independent ELF magic.Entering rescue mode ...grub rescue>At the prompt, the cursor keeps flashing endlessly and even if I enter EXIT at the prompt, is just says Invalid Command. There is no way to clear the error message being displayed and the only alternative is to turn off the PC.Does anyone know the cause and what do I need to do get Windows 10 operating normally again? Please advise as a

Strange 2.9.0 error message

When launching 2.9.0 strange error message appears:



But program seems to work.

And also "DirectCompute" status differs from 2.8.0. (2.8.0 launches normally without any messages.)

 

Windows Update Error Message 0x80070543


Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:

1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?

What is your Windows OS version - Windows 10 Fall Creators Update from Fall of 2017 (version 1709), or is it latest one from April 2018? (version 1803)
Try updating to latter if you use the former.

Also, if you quit and run GPU-Z again 10-20 more times, does it show same error every time?
