Windows 10: Strange Files in C drive Folder

Discus and support Strange Files in C drive Folder in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; Hi. When I go to This PC and select my C drive i have a TON of files listed...they are stuff i dont know about..for example theres M files ,R files...     Strange Files in C drive Folder


    Hi. When I go to This PC and select my C drive i have a TON of files listed...they are stuff i dont know about..for example theres M files ,R files etc., CAB files, MUM, Manifest, security catalog, XML, WMA and a few that are a mashup of letters and numbers...theres a whole lot of them and i dont know why they are there or what caused them. thanks!

    strange settings.ini file in C folder

    Good evening,

    I have found a strange settings.ini file in the C folder with the following content:

    [IWA]

    BalloonTipTimeout=10000

    ExportPath=C:\

    HideAlerts=0

    ...

    C windows installer folder - Delete?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Strange Files in C drive Folder ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

    Strange USB-Drive Icons

    Hi, I've not looked into this at all, but looking at that folder the one that appears to contain the strange icon is
    f4e323bf-0f31-42b6-9ad6-5d5382d3fa83
    - I don't have one called 797289b8-812a-4d9e-bda5-91567fd47bc6

    Would I be correct in thinking that this ico file is the clue as to which to delete?

    And thanks- having deleted the folder it did indeed prove necessary to use Driver Booster as described. Problem solved- for now...
