Windows 10: Strange Internet Problem

Hi everyone,


I've got this strange bug on my Windows 10 system. I've had it for a while but after all my troubleshooting I've decided to see if anyone else has any ideas.


Well, I'm using the Internet; streaming and such and then quite randomly the WiFi will disconnect itself. Usually the best way to fix this problem is to change the frequency. So if I'm using the 5Ghz frequency and the Internet disconnects itself I connect to the 2.4GHz frequency and then the Internet will continue to function. But oddly enough if I connect to the 2.4 and then back to the 5G frequency the Internet will work normally.


It can't be the router because it happens both on my Netgear at home and my TP-Link at my house. I wonder, does anyone have any insight into why it's doing this. My laptop is getting on a bit so I wonder if it's due to age.


My Windows version is Windows 10 Home UK English 1809.

just checked but internet explorer isn't in list in programms and features in control panel. *Frown

 

Strange boot problem

I am trying to get my head round the 6 steps above before having a go. If you can expand on them it may give me a bit more confidence. I cant lose the whole contents of my PC.
Have attached details as you suggested.

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
