Windows 10: Strange line while the screen is dark

Hey guys,Today i booted my laptop and i started seening this strabge line while the screen ia dark and i don't know ehat to do about it. This is a picture of it

Dark line across screen

Does anyone know why all of a sudden this week when I turned on my computer, there was a 3/4 inch dark line across my screen that separates my screen? I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get the cursor to go back to the top of the document. What
a pain. When I called Dell, they told me I need a new computer - really? Any suggestions? I have tried the screen display and resolution - nothing.

 

win 10 update leaves vertical pink line on screen

today i applied latest win 10 update and now i have a vertical pink line on screen, it remains on every screen. i have tried these fixes

Step 1: I suggest you to run SFC scan,
System File Checkeris a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update the display drivers and check.

Steps to Update the Display Adapter driver.

• Press Windows key + Xkey when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update driver software

BUT i still have the line on screen.

 

strange issues (black screen, blue screen, and freezes)

Memory or PSU gets my vote......although the 8800GT is getting alittle long in the tooth now.....but I'll stick with my 1st 2 suggestions.....get into the bios and check your voltage on your +3.3/ +5/and +12 lines and list them here.
