  1. Strange problem with monitors following reboot

Environment - Dell 8920 with Windows 10 1903 installed, latest quality update is 2020-02. Ethernet connected and all of the USB ports are in use for storage, keyboard, mouse and label maker.

Problem - Following a reboot nothing is displayed on either of the monitors attached to the system. Primary monitor is attached with display port and the secondary monitor is HDMI connected. I believe the system is actually running as the light is blinking on the Ethernet connection.

If I unplug all of the USB ports except for the keyboard and monitor and then recycle the PC with the power button both of the monitors work fine.

Both of the monitors are connected to built-in graphics support, there is a separate graphics card but nothing is plugged into it.

I can then plug in all of the USB devices that I unplugged and everything continues to work without problem until the next time I have to reboot the PC.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

  2. i have a problem to connect 2 monitors.

    Hi Ron,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
    • How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?
I suggest you to follow the steps from this article below:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors

[Applies to Windows 10 as well]

    Regards.

    Second monitor screen resolution problem

    Hi,

For us to properly isolate the issue with your second monitor screen resolution, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?

    • When did the issue first begin?

    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try resetting your monitor settings, and check if the issue still persists. You may refer to your monitor on how to reset it.

We look forward to your response.
