Windows 10: Strange problems: No files on desktop, store not working etc.

Hello there,

I upgraded my win 7 to 10 like a month ago, and since then I have a strange problems on my (desktop) computer.

Firstly I noticed the problem with user accounts: I have 3 user accounts, and from time to time everything disappear from my desktop (icons and stuff) and seems like just rebooting helps. Then I noticed that I can't view any images, as windows default "Photos" app suddenly stopped working, so my primary photo view app is automatically changed to "TWINUI" - whatever that is. And I can't change it, as the only option I can see is paint o.0 Then I wanted to go to store and see if I can get some other app for this, but now I can't even enter the store - it just doesn't responding at all, no errors, no nothing.
Any idea what's going on and how can I fix it?
I have a latest win 10 build - and I'm updating it regularly .

Keyboard problem

My keyboard is not working on Start, Store Apps (Cortana, Settings, Windows Store, Calculator, Mail, Edge etc) but working properly on Win32 Apps (Notepad, Browsers, File Explorer, etc) after upgrading to Windows 10 1709 build 16299.15 for my desktop and
laptop.

 

Solitaire collection does not open on Windows 10

We did all the things that had/have been suggested.

We had noticed that the presentation in the Store would change depending on the status of downloaded or not downloaded, etc.

I finally noticed that the presentation in the Store, after asking for it to be downloaded or loaded or whatever.... included a button that said PLAY, I believe.

I clicked on PLAY and it ran.

Thereafter the desktop icon worked!

Very strange interaction to say the least.

 

Hi Nightmaster and welcome to Tenforums.

You might want to try running sfc /scannow, to try and fix any problematic system files. It may require you run the tool at least 3 times, with reboots in-between.

If that doesn't work, you could try an in-place repair to the OS, using the ISO from MSTechBench.
