    Strange thing with diagnostic wizard: error 0x80004005


    While trying to diagnose network problems, I get the Windows' response: The troubleshooter could not correct the errors found, Windows could not detect proxy network settings. Diagnostic wizard suspended, error code 0x80004005.How could I settle that failure ?..

    Network Diagnostics broken after July 2022 updates

    After running the recent updates from Microsoft, Network Diagnostics does not work.

    Steps:

    Opened Network Connections to view all LAN and WAN connections

    Right click on the LAN connection

    Select Diagnose

    "An error occurred while loading the troubleshooter:

    An unexpected error has occurred. The troubleshooting wizard can't continue."

    Package ID: Unknown

    Path: Unknown

    Error code: 0x80004005

    Creators update - error 0x80004005

    The 0x80004005 error code is listed within Windows as "Unspecified".. meaning a "catch-all prevent a melt-down" type thing... A clean install from a USB/DVD boot should overcome that... obviously backup first.
