Windows 10: Stream Radio in Windows 11 Media Player?

I'm currently using Windows 11 and I'm wondering if it's possible to stream radio stations? I can't find anything within that app that would allow me to do so. If it's not a feature, then can anyone suggest a media player that allows me to use the keyboard play/pause button in the background? Many third party apps will only use that button if it's in the foreground, which is super annoying.

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Step 1: If your computer is having problems playing video or audio files in Windows Media Player, try using the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter checks the configuration and network settings
for Windows Media Player to make sure that you can play content you've downloaded and saved to your computer, or content streaming over a network or the Internet.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings
  and follow the instructions.

Step 2: If your computer is having problems accessing your collection of digital media files in the Windows Media Player Library, try using the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter makes sure
Windows Media Player is correctly installed on your computer, and checks to see whether your Player Library is corrupted.

Thank you for the response and keeping the status updated.

Verify that Windows Media Player is configured to be the default player for .asx files (a type of playlist that Internet radio stations frequently use).

To associate this file type with Windows Media Player, click the arrow below the Library tab, and then click More Options.

Click the File Types tab, and then select the Windows Media File (asf) check box. This option enables the Player to play files with a variety of file name extensions, including .asx.

Verify that you have the necessary bandwidth to stream the radio station. Windows Media Player will try to adjust to a lower bit rate if the available bandwidth suddenly drops. For example, when you use a cable modem or corporate network, you are sharing
bandwidth with other users so the available bandwidth may fluctuate during the course of a song.



Try changing the stream speed from media player>>media guide>>internet radio>>stream speed.



Low - for slower internet connection.

High - for faster internet connection.
