Windows 10: Stream.ts file download itself after opening site I usually use

I had a random Stream.ts file download itself after visiting a website I usually use and never had issue with before. Is this a malware file or user cache file? I quickly deleted it from my pc and browser and ran windows security checks and it says no threats detected. I’m still nervous as to what it was I have never heard of a .ts file, if seen multiple names such as type script or transport stream dose anyone have any insight on this topic. Thank you

I'd like to know on what program you're using in reading .TS files. A slight research on this issue indicates that a possible cause of this is incomplete Codec pack for the player you're using. For now, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Player tab, click to select the Download codecs automatically check box, and then click OK.
3. Try to play the file.

TS Video File Editor

Both my Finnish and German IPTV subscriptions use .ts when I want to save something, so I know the issue.

First, a trick I have used with some video editors not able to open .ts videos: just change the extension to .mp4 or .mpg, and now most editors can open / import them. However, today most editors can import / open .ts files, so this trick is mostly not necessary.

That being said, what you want to achieve is extremely easy and fast to do with free, open source video editor Shotcut (download: Shotcut - Download)

Open the .ts file, trim as you like, export the modified file:
