Windows 10: Streams program only runs when loged in as administrator

Hello all,

I have a user that has a application called Streams it's a VoIP app. It was working fine for months. For some reason it will not load under the standard user. If I log in as the admin it works when I login as a standard user I get this message










I get this message even when I change the standard user to an administrator and when I gave the standard user full access to the folders indicated.

I'm fully patched and ran Symantec Endpoint Protection, Norton Power Eraser and Malwarebytes with not hints of viral / malware activity.

Any ideas why the standard user can't run this app anymore but the admin user can even when the standard user is elevated to admin rights?

Running Programs for a standard user

Hello

You mentioned checking the the box 'Run as Administrator'

This is the opposite of what I require ,I wanted to avoid running programs as admin . By unchecking 'Run As Administrator' I am still getting an admin credential verification prompt

Any further suggestions ?

 

Cannot run a program from an Administrator account

• Have you tried with other programs?
• Is this issue confined only with particular app\program?

I suggest you to check with other apps\programs and let us know with the result.

Also enter the following command to enable the hidden administrator account:

net user administrator /active:yes

Note: Disable the account by running the following command after troubleshooting the issue:

net user administrator /active:no

Once you have enabled the account, you will see it listed in the user accounts control panel applet. Note that the account has not assigned a password to it, and that you should consider setting one to improve account security.

If you're still trying to install the programs, we suggest changing the compatibility mode of the installers before installing the programs. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click AOL Desktop installer or Facebook Gameroom.
  
• Select Properties.
  
• Go to Compatibility tab.
  
• Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for.
  
• Click the drop-down option and select any Windows previous version.
  
• Check Run this program as an administrator.
  
• Click Apply, then OK.
  
• Try to install the program using the installer.
