    It possible. But one way to find out is to do a trial run with backup and restore and see if it sees the SD card as a choice. If and when this is run, boot to your Windows Recovery menu to pretend to restore from an image and see if it sees the card.

    Might be better to say, that device won't boot from an SD card, than saying, SD Cards are not bootable. An SD card can be made bootable. I have one that my laptop will boot from if its in a USB adapter. It won't boot from it in the built in card reader though because my BIOS does not support that option.
