    Struggling with files in AppData/Temp and I can't tell which ones may be malicious.


    So I started up an account on windows and after a while I look down and see that internet explorer is opened. The file it opened to is, "AppData/Local/Temp/LogUI/Pak/html/welcome.html#". The problem is I can't find internet explorer in my applications list, and while LogUI exists, everything after that doesn't exist. "Pak/html/welcome.html#" doesn't exists. I'm curious of how can I tell if files in the "Temp" folder are malicious. I also have other folders, such as "lu" with "nada_164_046d-uipak_x32.exe" and a sig and part file with the same name. Can this be a sign that I have malware? I'm co

    Clearing the AppData folder and the temp files.

    The AppData folder itself should not be touched, as the data in that folder is required by your installed applications.

    However, the Temp folder inside AppData can and should be cleared regularly.

    Sometimes, when clearing these files you will get an error on one or two files, that is OK, since they are currently in use by an open process . . .

    Just to clarify, Appdata isn't a temp folder, it holds important settings for your software.

    Yea, the cleanup tool didn't even list that AppData temp folder.

    CCleaner found it and cleaned it. Struggling with files in AppData/Temp and I can't tell which ones may be malicious. :) Still has 8GB of stuff in there, but it's down from the 51 GB it had. xD
