Windows 10: Stuck at "Choose a keyboard layout".

O.k. thank you ! Basically no issues with keyboard and mouse before trying the clean install having Windows 10 already from this upgrade ?

 

Seems might be an issue loading the USB drivers at the time of clean install, if this is what you are trying to do a clean install of Windows 10 after an upgrade. Any changes made since the upgrade to PC added hardware or using different keyboard and mouse ? Maybe can you try a different keyboard and mouse if you have another. Assuming no issue before clean install or can try a different port on PC while attempting install again.

 

My keyboard and mouse is not connected to an USB port on my Windows 10 x64 PC.
I think so.

In addition to the above

• Are the keyboard and mouse not functioning on the "keyboard layout screen"?
• If so, were they working before this point?
• If they are functioning correctly at this point, is it just that the "next" button doesn't move the install forward to the next stage?
• Or do none of the clickable buttons work at this point ('back', 'close' etc etc)? ie the mouse and keyboard work, but the installer does not

Is there any other important information you could reveal at this moment please.

I found some blank DVDs and three Windows 7 Recovery Media Creation DVDs. How many blank DVDs do I need for installing Windows 10? Or can I use the three Windows 7 Recovery Media Creation DVDs instead?

 

How will that help when you are stuck during a clean install due to a possible loss of keyboard/mouse functionality? Or is there another issue?

So, if you are already doing a clean install, then why are you asking questions about how many disks you need or whether you can use WIN7 disks instead? What method are you currently using for your clean install? From a DVD or USB flash disk perhaps?

Something is very wrong with this thread. I hope you are not a troll. I for one won't be posting again until you can answer most of the questions asked within the last six or seven posts.

 

Agreed that this thread seems weird to say the least. Anyway as it seems the OP (provided he/she isn't a troll) is having trouble with USB peripherals, why not checking BIOS for USB options; maybe you can change something usb-related there that will appease w10 installation.

PS - According to his/her mainboard specs, there aren't even usb3 on this board. Just good ole' usb2. It should work. Now I am wondering, what part is taking care of usb support? southbridge or super I/O chipset?

It is connected by wires. I have no Wi-Fi, but a modem for PCs in my house, which is this one.
My System Unit is this.
My PC is this.
My keyboard is this.
My mouse is this, but without the HP logo.
With all of them put together, my PC looks like this:

 

Look at bottom of page, see only have USB ports to connect a keyboard or mouse, yes we all have wires with connectors at end, either being USB for this kind of devices, as i see no PS/2 keyboard port telling me only way to connect mouse and keyboard would be through USB http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/p...ocId=c02927009

Need Windows 10 ISO made to a disc, to install Windows 10 on a clean install, has nothing to do with your windows 7 recovery discs. Assume made a Windows 10 bootable disc from an ISO to be able to do a clean install.

 

Is there any specific link to a Windows 10 ISO online, or do I have to make one?
