  1. Stuck in automatic repair loop (UPDATE: drive letters has switched)

    ---- Update:

My windows 10 won't boot. It seems like my windows installation is now located at drive D: (it used to be C:, which now seems to only contain a folder named Boot).

I tried rebuilding my BCD according to this page: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-cc275e1d9fbf

I tried switching the labels in regedit but it doesnt seem to save the changes.

    ---- Original post:

I noticed that my computer did an update when I shut it down last night. The blue end screen said something about "configuring updates" like Windows use to do sometimes.
Earlier during that day the only thing I remember that I changed or install was Microsoft SQL express 2008. I doubt this has something to do with it.

Anyway today it doesn't boot into Windows. Its stuck in the automatic repair loop.

    I have tried the following:

    - Safemode:
Just restarts and comes back to automatic repair

    - I tried going into the Command prompt and typed cd C: (which is where Windows should be installed)
In there I could only find a folder named Boot

    - Shut down, plug out DC cable, holding power button a few seconds
    Automatic repair again

    - Resetting my PC (keeping files but removing settings, apps, etc.):
Starts showing "Resetting this PC" and showing a percentage counting up.
When its done it shows automatic repair on the black screen again but the blue screen shows something ifferent:
"Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The operating system couldnt be loaded because the NLS data is missing or contains errors.
    Error code: 0xc0000225
You'll need to use recovery tools."

What has happened and what should I do?

    :)

  6. When I enter diskpart in cmd and type list volume it looks like the volume that is the largest (which looks like the size of my C: partition where Windows should be) has the Ltr E .. But, when I enter cmd the "start letter" seems to be X:.

  13. Stuck in automatic repair loop (UPDATE: drive letters has switched)

    After running bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
it scanned disk and found 2 Windows installations (one of them might be caused by me trying to fix this problem this morning by reparing from my USB drive but I am not sure)

The first says E:\Windows.old\WINDOWS, I added it to boot list
The second says E:\Windows but when I tried adding it to boot list it said "The requested system device cannot be found"

Right click on Windows icon bottom left corner, click on Disk Management, this will reveal all drives.
See attachment if you need to change drive letter, right click on drive gives option.
