Windows 10: Stuck in endless login page after forced to update

Just got a new laptop, the first thing after getting it started with some programs was to update the software to continue, had no choice and now I'm stuck in the login page.Have tried everything!!!

Endless Reboot after Windows update


My Windows 10 updated last night with the cryptic message "Your files are Safe" update. Then none of my programs would open.

When i rebooted I became stuck in an endless reboot cycle. I don't know how to get out of the cycle.

I get to the login page then the laptop automatically reboots itself if i don't try login. If I try to login it also reboots. So i can't get past the initial login page

Any information or fixes would be helpful.

 

Windows 10 update stuck on endless "Retry"

I am trying to install the latest Windows update

... and I am stuck in an endless Retry loop.





Every time it tries to install this update, it fails with this message:

I've rebooted and retried a bunch of times and get the same exact result over and over, stuck on Retry:





I have no idea what to try, or even how to get out of this endless update "problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later" retry loop. Suggestions welcome!

Updates based on the answers and comments:

• This is a wired computer, no wifi, no battery
  
• Plenty of free space on the boot C:\ drive, almost 200GB
  
• There are no removable drives or USB keys attached
  
• Does have multiple drives (boot SSD and two large media HDDs)
  
• sfc /scannow reports good integrity
  
• Machine is Haswell based, 8GB RAM, built in mid 2013
  

I will hopefully be able to provide an answer with the full set of troubleshooting from someone at Microsoft who helpfully assisted me in case anyone else runs into this.

 

windows 10 update stuck in endless cycle of trying to update

Hello,

I have the same problem. The Win10 update - 1709 is being downloaded and the update process starts. After it reaches 55% the computer is restarted and the process continues. However, when it reaches 90% the update process is stuck. The indication circle
is spinning but everything is stuck. The HD led is constant.

The only way to recover is to force shutdown the computer and then the process starts again.

My current Win10 version is 1607

Computer Intel NUC N2820

I ran the Windows Update troubleshooting but it didn't help.

I also did the suggestion in the previous post but it didn't help.

Can you please help me solve this issue or disable this endless cycle?
