    Stuck in S Mode Windows 11


    Just picked up a new Laptop Acer 3 Spin 14. After setup, I find out about S mode. I do a full update of windows store, and a full system check for updates and download all updates. Every time I go to "Get" The S mode exist on Microsoft store it just says "Something happened, and we couldn't start the upgrade" So my new laptop is completely stuck in S mode, how do I fix this?

    Stuck in safe mode in windows 10

    Safe mode is intended to help fix most, if not all problems within an operating system, it's not good if we got stuck on it. To correct this, we suggest that you follow the steps below to exit out of Safe mode:

    • Open Run command by pressing Windows key + R
      keys on the keyboard and type msconfig in the command box and press
      Enter.
    • Under General tab, put a check on Normal Startup option.
    • Reboot the system and check if the changes are effective.

    Let us know if you are able to exit out of Safe mode with these steps.

    Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10  


    I am stuck in Safe Mode in spite of following all the suggested steps to go back to Normal Startup - Like opening file location of msconfig.exe & running as Administrator. The computer I am trying to get out of safe mode has just been updated from Windows 7.

    Windows 11 Stuck in S Mode

    Hi - I just bought a new laptop and it appears to be stuck in ‘S mode’ on Windows 11. I have followed the steps advised elsewhere (Settings > System > Activation > Disable S Mode), but when hitting ‘Get’ in the Windows Store I quickly get an error message and a ‘retry’ option (which does nothing).

    I have installed the latest updates - no change.

    Is my laptop somehow locked into S Mode?
