Windows 10: Stuck in Windows 8.1. Unable to install Windows 10 image

Greetings,

This may be a bit long winded but I have a problem.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad 8 and was getting a Code 10 error for the Broadcom WiFi card.

It was running Windows 10.

I saved an image for Windows 10 but reinstalled Windows 8.1

None of the Broadcom drivers were working and I did not know if it was an OS issue so I was testing it.

The Code 10 error continued. No luck.

Now I cannot activate Windows 8.1. the built in key is not working.

Nor can I reinstall the image. It is calling for a repair disk of the same environment, i.e. Windows 10

I have an iso USB and am trying to install Windows 10 thinking I could re-image, but I cannot install Windows 10.

It will not install in the Windows 8.1 environment as I do not have Windows 8.1 activated nor do I have the Windows 10 key.

Fortunately I have the original Windows 8.1 instalation disk so I can fall back.


I need some help to get Windows 10 back.

How can I install it fresh and then the image? My assumption is that image will have the key just fine as it was activated before.

no, you can't go back..
I suggest creating a backup image of your os drive

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
