    Stuck multiple times at 89% while updating Windows 10 to version 1903


    Recently I tried to update win10 to the latest version 1903, but it failed multiple times: always stuck at 89% with the same error code: 0xC1900101-0x4000D, indicating installation failed during the stage of SECOND_BOOT while attempting MIGRATE_DATA. I also tried Media Creation Tool after trying the regular windows update. It failed also with the same error code.


    Here are the log files you might need to figure out what is wrong with the update:

    1. The Panther logs. Files named Setupact.log and Setuperr.log https://1drv.ms/u/s!An9wNW9q9BMBmRe3n3n_QqxU9h41?e=y6RgNw
    2. The Rollback logs: Files named Setupact.log and Setuperr.log https://1drv.ms/u/s!An9wNW9q9BMBmRjP6Lkoo3g7ShN7?e=N4CPT4

    4. By the way, i have never encountered with blue screen.

    We are aware of reports from users experiencing problems installing the latest Feature Update, version 1903 which is in the process of rolling out.

    A couple issues we are aware of that might block the upgrade include the following:

    - You need to ensure you have 10 to 16 GBs of free space.

    - If there is a SD card installed, uninstall it or disable it.

    - Disconnect any usb drives.

    What is the exact make and model?

    Open Start, type: system information

    Hit Enter

    Click System summary

    Look in the right pane

    Copy the system sku info into reply here.

    Another way users have been able to successfully install the update is by using the Update Assistant. Go to the following page then click 'Update Now'

    Another method you can try is using the ISO file.

    Step 1: download Windows 10 1903 from the following link:

    Choose the following:

    - Windows Final

    - Windows 10, version 1903

    - Windows 10 Pro + Home

    - English

    - x64 (64 bit) x32 (32 bit)

    Right click the ISO file

    Click Mount

    Start setup
