Windows 10: Stuck on a bootmgr issue, help needed

This is the premise of what happened.


I tried to free up some space from volume D to C but couldn't extend using disk Management. So I used ease us partition manager to free up space from D which got stuck at 95 % for some time. I closed it with task manager.


I opened This PC and the space got deducted but neither showed in disk Management or ease us partition manager. So I restarted and got stuck in bootmgr is missing.


So using a bootable windows media I tried using lot of bootrec commands, wasn't working. So I copied the bootmgr file from the usb to C volume.


Then it came windows failed to start............ boot configuration I don't remember well. Then I tried some bcdedit commands and then it ended up saying this " an operating system wasn't found......... ". I don't want to make it worse


Some of the commands that didn't work out for me are

* bcdedit export ........ said "store operation failed , couldn't copy the files


Can anyone help me regarding this ?


I'm really stuck at this point and whatever solution I look up forms a loop like for a clearing problem 1 I should clear problem 2 and for that I should clear problem 1 this ex is just to understand, actually having like 3-4 problems .


I have been really frustrated. The solution I'm thinking of as a last resort is :

* Take a backup of both the volume either by opening notepad in cmd and copying the files using GUI , I don't have exposure using CLI what I can think of is, using cp command or robocopy-which I have to use for the first time and then format and install a new copy I don't know the formatting part

That is it. Really in need of help.

bootmgr missing on start!

I understand the inconvenience that you are unable to upgrade to Windows 10, which hangs and prompts
bootmgr missing. We will help you to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to disconnect all the unnecessary external devices connected to the computer (except the mouse, keyboard and the recovery media) and check.

If you doesn't have a recovery media then you can create USB recovery drive from a working Windows 8 computer from the following link or contact your computer manufacturer for the recovery disc.

I would suggest you to follow these steps and try to fix the Windows 8 boot issue:

  Boot from the recovery media.
  
• 
  Click on Repair your computer.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshoot and then select Advanced Options.
  
• 
  Click on Command prompt and type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
  

• 
  Bootrec /fixmbr
  
• 
  Bootrec /fixboot
  
• 
  Bootrec /rebuildbcd
  

5. Restart the computer.

6. Check if the issue persists.

I suggest you to install Windows 10 using the media creation tool and check if it helps:

detected when your PC is starting, you may receive this error message.

Which OS are you are currently in?

Did you try the same step to install windows 7 from a DVD? I suggest you to perform the steps again.

• 
  Insert your Windows 7 DVD into your DVD drive and restart the system.
  
  (If you did not make a "Recovery DVD", borrow a like version of the Windows 7 DVD from a friend).
  
• 
  Boot the PC using the DVD by pressing any key when prompted.
  
• 
  Verify your language is correct and click
  'Next'.
  
• 
  Select the option named 'Repair your computer'.
  
• 
  The repair option then searches for the Windows Operating System. Once it has completed click
  'Next'.
  
• 
  Under Recovery Tool, choose the option named
  'Startup repair'.
  
• 
  Windows will "try" to repair your startup problem and will prompt you to restart the PC.
  
• 
  If you still get the "BOOTMGR is missing" error then repeat steps 1 to 7 again.
  
• 
  Restart your system to finish the process.
