Windows 10: Stuck on Black Screen While in System Restore

    Stuck on Black Screen While in System Restore


    Screen went black about 30 seconds into system restore. This was over two hours ago. Should I reboot even though it says not to turn computer off once the process begins? Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Windows 10 Professional - Windows Logo Stuck - Drive Letters Changed

    I would use System Restore while in the WRE.

    BTW - "DOS" died about 18 years ago with Windows ME. The black screen you were using is called the "Console" or the "Command Prompt".

    Laptop wont start correctly after interrupted restart.

    Random thing that i discovered, while stuck on the black screen unplugging or plugging in the laptop will cause it to beep.

    Hi and Welcome to TenForums!

    If the screen has remained black for two hours with no graphical changes, then, yes, I would restart the system.
