Windows 10: Stuck on choose operating system [windows 10 on volume 3]

Hi,I reset my pc to give it to my younger sister. It is stuck at reinstalling windows. It is stuck at choose operating system where it shows 2 options under choose operating system.Windows 10 in volume 3Windows 10 in volume 3Both the options bring the laptop back to the same screen. How to fix this?

To better assist you, do let us the complete message that you receive.

Sometimes, this could be due to two operating system installed in your computer. Just to make sure this is not the case, I suggest you to try the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R.

2. Type msconfig and press enter.

3. Click the "boot" tab and check if there are any other operating system listed.

4. In addition, change the timeout time to 3 seconds(default)

Windows 'Choose an operating system' loop

I recently reset my Windows 10 laptop, and all went fine, until it hit the 'Choose an operating system' page. It keeps on looping, and there are two of the same operating systems- Windows 10 on volume 3. How do I stop this and continue?

I think I see where the problem lies. The OS listed on the Boot tab is just "Windows 10"



But the top OS on the Selection Screen at Bootup is listed as "Windows 10 from volume 3"




I'm not sure, but I believe that whichever option I chose at the previous bootup, moves to the top position on a subsequent boot up. So I'll try switching to the bottom option and see what happens.
