    Stuck on grey screen with no cursor on windows 10


    I originally entered safe mode to fix a Bluetooth issue, but once I rebooted my PC my monitors weren’t detecting a signal. Eventually I found an HDMI cable and used that, which worked, so I exited safe mode. Now I’m stuck on a blank gray screen and I have no clue what to do. I have an aurora R8 with windows 10. I use a DP to connect both my monitors to my PC, but currently I’m forced to use my HDMI to see anything at all

    Windows 10 stuck on blank screen with mouse cursor at boot

    Recently I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. Everything installed and worked great for few weeks. After 2 or 3 weeks I can't boot to Windows 10 anymore.

    The computer goes thru initial boot and before showing any windows 10 screens (no blue window, no dots etc) gets stuck on blank screen with blinking mouse cursor.

    Per Microsoft engineer who responded to my previous post, I created windows 10 ISO disk. Booted from the disk, got thru the blue windows logo and dancing dots to a "Windows Setup" box with 2 options:



    • 1. Continue with the upgrade (I already upgraded successfully and everything worked for a while)

      2. Perform a clean installation
    Continuing upgrade gets me back to blank screen with blinking cursor.

    I didn't try option 2, clean installation, because I am afraid to loose all my programs etc.

    I installed turbotax after upgrading to win 10, but I don't think turbotax is a problem. I have no problems at all after installing it on another win 10 computer.

    Now I regret upgrading to windows 10. Windows 7 worked perfectly fine.

    Any suggestions how to repair the windows 10?

    Or is there a way to go back to windows 7 without full reinstall?

    Windows 10 stuck on black screen after boot.


    Hi guys, I'm having an issue with my laptop. Updated to Windows 10 Pro x64 about a month ago. Two days ago I shutdown the system just fine but just yesterday when I booted it, it got past the Acer logo during boot followed by a black screen as usual... BUT it stuck there forever. Restarted it multiple times, same result. Sometimes the cursor shows up but its useless as its just the cursor. *Confused

    Tried the following things.


    • Tried CTRL + SHIFT + ESC for task manager but nothing came up.
    • Tried CTRL + ALT t+ DEL still nothing.
    • Went through recovery options then selected safe mode but, to my surprise, the same result.
    • Then used the chkdsk command through cmd in recovery options, didn't find any problem.
    • Ran the sfc /scannow command from boot, didn't found any integrity violations. *Shock

    Any suggestions? I still have to try system restore though. *Think
