Windows 10: Stuck on lock screen - windows 10

Hi

I have a lenovo thinkpad x1 2nd gen tablet/convertible (ssd m2)

The battery would not charge and all power was used. This is now remedied (new motherboard).

However I cannot get past the lock screen. I would normally swipe / press enter to get to log in but this does not work. The lock screen is showing the personalised photo I am using.


I have tried reset but this fails. I have also tried the troubleshooting (via f1 etc) option but this cannot solve the problem.


I can get to the cmd window, and my files are there.

I have been sent a recovery usb from lenovo but this will erase all my data. I do not want to lose the photos.


Ideally I would like to be able to login without losing data. Failing that, is there anyway I can recover the data from the hard disc before I do a complete reset? I have even toyed with the idea of removing the ssd, although that would probably invalidate the warranty.


Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Computer stuck at lock screen and after Anniversary Update on Windows 10

The first suggestion is not helpful since the problem is that we have many open programs stuck behind the lock screen.

I have run into this problem and tried the On-screen keyboard but it does not help.

An additional data point is that it does not matter what password is entered.

Enter correct password -> spinner shows up, after about 30 seconds the spinner goes away and the screen remains locked.

Enter blank password (simply hit Enter) -> same behaviour as above.

The behaviour is the same whether using physical or On-screen keyboards.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

No Lock screen in Windows 10.

• When you say that "rolling slideshow ", what exactly are you referring to?
• When you say that "I can't activate it again.", are you referring that you are not able to Activate Windows 10?
• What are the troubleshooting steps which you have performed to resolve the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to set the lock screen pictures.

1. Right click on Desktop screen.

2. Then click on Personalize.

3. Click on Lock Screen.

4. Try to select the lock screen picture.
