Windows 10: Stuck on mute

My computer is stuck on 0 volume and neither the volume buttons on my keyboard or the volume ui will let me turn it up.

Volume stuck on Mute

I have windows 7. I have done nothing to change anything but suddenly the volume is stuck on mute. I can't even access the volume key. Suggestions. I have tried going to the control panel and that did not work either.

 

Mute Toggle Stuck

Hi,

I have been trying to get the toggle to switch from mute, but to no avail. This is on an Alienware laptop with an external monitor via HDMI. When testing sound, laptop speakers get sound, but the monitor does not. Using the sound settings, I can see that the monitor is getting inputs for sound, but is not playing them

Below is what I have tried:

• Check drivers in device manager
  
• Tried fn and the mute button
  
• Tried moving the slider manually, but it switches right back to being muted
  
• When the monitor is unplugged, sound turns on, but when it is plugged back in, it toggles off.
  

Any ideas or thoughts?

 

Computer stuck on Mute

My computer's volume is muted and I cant get it to unmute. I tried to troubleshoot it to get it to fix itself, and the computer recognizes that it is stuck in mute, but it is unable to fix itself? What do I do???
