Windows 10: Stuck on Preparing Automatic Repair screen.

Since last night my laptop has been stuck on the loading screen with writing saying “Prepaing Automatic Repair.


i have tried turning my laptop on and off again. I have tried activating safe mode so I can go on my computer. I have tried doing a system reset with only my personal files would remain of it worked. I tried doing that twice and both went back to winRE at around 50%. I have tried basic troubleshooting. I have tried putting in different commands in the command terminal. I have tried restoring my system back to a certain date. I have tries just leaving the laptop overnight to see if the “prepairing automatic repair” would actually do something.

i am using a Lenovo Yoga 530. The intel sticker says Core 15 8th gen. I am certain i was on the current updates before all this.

Preparing automatic repair black screen afterwards stuck

Fixing this gaming PC for a friend. His computer gets stuck on the windows logo with the dotted spinning circle. In the past to fix this i've done a startup repair. But this time, the PC starts the Preparing Automatic Repair, then screen goes black, where normally it should be showing diagnosing your pc before loaded the Automatic Repair screen.

What should I attempt to try next?

Try entering Safe Mode to repair

Press the power button to turn on your PC, then hold the power button down until PC shuts down automatically (about 5 seconds). Repeat this more than 2 times until you see the Preparing Automatic Repair (see below screenshot).

Note: This step is aim to bring up Preparing Automatic Repair screen. When Windows doesn’t boot properly, this screen pops up and Windows attempts to fix the problem by itself. If you’ve seen this screen for the first time when you power up the computer, skip
this step.

.- Then wait for Windows to diagnose your PC.

.- Click Advanced options, then the system will bring up the Windows RE (Recovery environment.) screen.

.- On the Windows RE (Recovery environment) screen, click Troubleshoot.

.- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced options.

.- Click Startup Settings to continue.

.- Click Restart. The computer restarts and another screen opens showing a list of different startup options.

.- On your keyboard, press the 4 number key to enter Safe Mode without network. (If you need to do some online research after boot into the safe mode, press the 5 number key to enter Safe Mode with network access.)

Preparing automatic repair

No it doesnt boot into the system, it either get stuck on the intial screen which displays that boot device or it gets stuck on next screen which has a window and below which it is written preparing automatic repair.
