  1. Stuck on Windows 10 Pro 32 build 10240 FOREVER! ALL attempts to upgrade end with upgrade...

I’ve can honestly say i will be VERY surprised if this problem can actually be solved without a patch of some kind from what all I’ve read - & it’s A LOT - spent the last week or so battling it out with an old laptop & gettin it to run Windows 10 pro 32 bit which it does very well but as the title says I’m stuck on build 10240 & have been since the start.

Tried almost every so called solution could find in 100’s of diff searches using bing & google but nothing I’ve found anywhere ever works.

Uninstalled - reinstalled so many times i can’t remember, tried blocking windows update for changing hardware drivers for my LAN & WLAN using group policy as admin, tried turning off win updates din hardware installation settings, tried numerous diff drivers for both LAN & WLAN, tried uninstalling the device & restarting Windows to c it would pick the correct functional driver but nope it wipes EVERYTHING out every time somewhere during Windows updating/upgrading. I’ve tried almost every single build from 1507 to 1809 to 1909 to 2004 - ALL the same prob - wipes out my network adapters with no way to ever reinstall them. Any thoughts &/or ideas on what if anything else can be done to attempt somehow to fix this impossible problem?? Thanks ALL!!

EDIT - it’s an old Sony Vaio laptop with all intel chipset, processors & drivers but NONE of the drivers windows ever installs ever work.

    Stuck in Windows 10 Upgrade

My computer seems to be stuck in a Windows 10 failed upgrade loop. I was running fine on a beta version of Windows 10, and then I came downstairs one morning to see it repeatedly booting, attempting to repair, then rebooting. The steps I've taken to diagnose are:

    • Attempting to boot off a USB drive (with all drives disabled in BIOS) - this fails at the point of the blue windows screen
    • Attempting to boot the machine itself and getting into "repair/safe mode" using F7
    • Looking at the BIOS for obvious failures (e.g. RAM that should be there is missing) - nothing obvious is wrong.

I am fairly certain the build version was 9926. For many months, the system would attempt to upgrade, and then say "it failed" for some reason and roll back.

    Suggestions for next steps?
