Windows 10: Stuck on ”You’re 100% there. Please keep your computer on.” After update

Hi,My Lenovo laptop is stuck on “100%” after an update, it’s been like this for over an hour now. I’ve tried a hard restart several times but it keeps getting stuck on the same notification. I’ve unplugged any HDMI cables that was connected to the laptop. I don’t understand how I boot it in safe mode. Online it says press the F8 key when booting up, but nothing happens. Lenovo offers an option to disrupt the normal startup to do diagnostics, but it doesn’t allow anything else. What can I do? I just need my laptop. Is this a Lenovo issue or a windows issue?

20h2 update freezes at 100%

At which step does it freeze?

I'm on a low bandwidth ISP and have been seeing my 'Downloading...' step SAY 100% but clearly there's still some serious network traffic down that continues for another 15 minutes. It helps to know it's really not stuck, and this Download 100% message is premature.

Check Performance Monitor if it is the Download step.

To understand the issue better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Is the computer stuck in the Installing updates screen?
• For how long is the computer stuck in the screen?
• When was the computer last updated?
• Is the screen showing any percentage of installation?

Sometimes the installation might take a long time to install if the update is of large size. So, I suggest you to wait for sometime and check if the system boots to the desktop. If it is taking a longer time, then perform a Power Drain by following the steps
provided below:

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.

Windows 10 Updates stuck on 100% Complete

As you mentioned that you are able to restart the computer in safe mode, so I would suggest you to restart the computer in safe mode and then uninstall the updates which causing the problem, restart the computer in normal mode and
change the Windows updates settings.

Refer the below steps to change the Windows updates settings.

  Press Windows key+I.

  Click on Update and Recovery.
  
• 
  Click on advanced options on right pane.
  
• 
  Under “choose how updates are install” select the option accordingly.
  

You may also hide the Windows updates which causing the problem.
