Windows 10: "Stuck" with a part of window task manager "permanently" open on my desktop - Pleae help me...

Hello Friends: Please refer to the uploaded screenshot seen below which is not the view I want in the slightest. I want things how it used to be.Somehow over time this became a fixture on my desktop which is very annoying. Windows Task Manager seems to lost its functionality. This fully movable floating window is fully scrollable whether it be up, down or sideways BUT cannot be closed. It is easily resized as well. My goals are as follows:1 Restore Windows Task Manager to its full functionality so I can again see what processes are running and stop them as needed.2 Kill this window from sh

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

Are you facing any other issues with the start menu or the action center?

I would suggest you to try these steps and check if that fixes the issue:

• Open an Administrator CMD window. If you can’t find a way, use these steps:
  
• Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.
• Click File > Run New Task
• Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• Type CMD
• Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:
  
  dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  
  sfc /scannnow

If the above steps didn't help, then try creating a new user profile and check if the same behavior is noticed. This will help us determine if this issue is confined to your user profile. Try these steps and let us know the results.

I have the same problem. The task viewer icon was there but is now gone. I have gone through the steps you listed but no viewer. Then I created a new profile and the task viewer is there. Now, how do I get the task viewer back in my taskbar in my
original profile??
