    also my mom knows nothing about computers, but in this situation my mom thinks she knows more about windows than it's developers.

    The User Account Control is a security feature which helps stop unauthorized changes to your computer. Like what
    BulldogXX mentioned, it requires administrator account to allow a program to make changes.

    To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • What are you trying to do when you get the UAC box?
    • Are you logged-in on your computer as administrator?
    • Did you follow the steps given by BulldogXX?

    You might be old, but stupid? I see no evidence for that.

    Run your app with Administrator permissions:

    • right-click on the app
    • select 'Run as administrator'
    • enter the password for an Administrator account when prompted.
