stuttering since Win 10 AU install

    Hello,

My HP Envy laptop has been stuttering since the Anniversary Upgrade a few weeks ago. I ran LatencyMon, but don't know what to do with the results, which clearly show a problem. Can someone provide some guidance? Here's the LatencyMon report:

    CONCLUSION
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____
Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:04:29 (h:mm:ss) on all processors.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 18379.440771
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 8.617107

Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 18375.121152
Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 2.470257

    REPORTED ISRs
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____
Interrupt service routines are routines installed by the OS and device drivers that execute in response to a hardware interrupt signal.

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____
DPC routines are part of the interrupt servicing dispatch mechanism and disable the possibility for a process to utilize the CPU while it is interrupted until the DPC has finished execution.

    REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count: rundll32.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults 14153
Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 8010

Windows 10: Critical Error - Start Menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in".

Well this "Critical Error" is a new problem which appeared soon after the last automatic update to win 10 a few days ago (it is now April 18th - so the recent auto update to Win 10 which appears to be a
    downdate, not UP date.

My experience with it is that it is NOT a "Critical Problem" as I move that window with that message off screen and continue using my PC and it works just fine minus the Left Click on the Window Icon not working... BUT.... RIGHT CLICK ON THE WINDOW ICON
and the menu pops up with the usual set of options.

You might want to tell the PERSON who programmed that "Critical" window with the critical error message to watch out what they are doing. 1) no way to close the damned window, 2) it is NOT a "critical error"
just a random screw up after the last win-10 update, 3) without any logo from MS it looks like MalWare wanting me to log in again and steel my log in code.

On to PROBLEM #2 - since I upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7 my sound is ruined. The sound stutters and is distorted, the mouse also stutters when the sound stutters, and the browser (Chrome, IE and Firefox all do this). System says that the
most recent sound driver IS installed. Win 7 worked just fine. This sound problem exists on TWO different Win 10 PCs - the stuttering is random but when it stutters it screws up the mouse too.

Nice if you'all got your act together before you release new OpsSys.
