Windows 10: subfolder pictures don't save windows 10

Hello am wondering how to keep my folders/subfolders with pictures not icons as i try to go to properties customise pictures ticked the box also apply this template to all sub folders. but when i shift the folder to another folder the pictures in subfolders return to general and box unticked back to square 1 and when i am in a folder and go back the search bar results on the left fills up green ? why does this happen i have to close the folder and reopen to search i work on ebay and have heaps of individual folder for over 1000 products and gives me the run around it's frustrating can you advi

Windows 10 don't save change for default programs

Recently i been having alittle trouble getting my Windows 10 Pro to save how it opens my pictures on my computer, bcs i want to use Windows Photo Viewer instead of the new default photo application.

I notice that i got some "asian language" in the default for my picture files, anyone knows how i can get rid of that and when i select all and click save it doesn't really save this setting.

nuth major found other then some files i knew had some dirty in them.

 

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
