Windows 10: Subject: Urgent Assistance Needed - Data Loss After DiskPart Commands

Hello Microsoft Community, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek urgent assistance regarding a data loss issue I encountered while performing DiskPart commands on my E: drive. Description of the Issue: Earlier today, I mistakenly executed the following commands in DiskPart: 1.diskpart 2.list disk select disk [Your disk] 3.clean 4.create partition primary 5.format fs=ntfs 6.exit Unfortunately, I realize that these commands have resulted in the loss of data on my E: drive. The drive was cleaned, and I need assistance in recovering the lost files.

Okay I don't see any known troublemakers in the shell extensions shown in explorer tab.





Would suggest checking for updates for the softwares listed and installing updates if available.

@acer3, Our real data recovery expert here is @jumanji. More than likely by doing clean, followed by converting gpt to mbr you have lost all of your data. @jumanji would know the real answer to that question. I recommend ignoring other posters. I only know basics of data recovery, that's why I won't pretend to be an expert and suggest what you do, other than stop doing anything with your BIOS and that disk until a real expert can give you advice. Here's a little hint. Look at the badges that are under user names to the left of every post. That will give you some idea as to whose advice is likely good, and whose advice you should examine very carefully.
