    So the get to my problem I have this powered subwoofer I'm playing with and have it hooked up via a RCA cable adapted to a regular TRS plug into my x399 aorus gaming 7 motherboard to the center/sub TRS port and I have two creative reference CR4 monitors connected to my front speaker out. I can configure these speakers all I want but the sub won't output anything except when I configure the speakers, they play their little jingle other than that, nothing is played from the sub, please help I'm losing my mind.

    The sounds will be still playing out of the laptop and there is not any output settings to set it to LG output.

    On the LG soundbar I see the PC is connected but not any sounds.

    I have tried to update drivers, but wasnt helpful.

    Please recommend me something..

    Hi Marcus,

    There might be a chance that if default audio device is not selected as external subwoofer that's the reason of no sound from external subwoofer. So, I would suggest you to check the default audio device and see if it not selected as default then try to
    set it as default. For performing these task you may refer to the steps provided below.

    • Windows key + X, click Control Panel, click
      Hardware and Sound, and then click Sound.
    • Playback tab. Make sure the correct default audio device is selected. (For most users, the default audio device is
      Speakers.)
    • Playback tab, select the correct device, click Properties, click the
      Advanced tab, and make sure that Default Format is set to the value that you expect. When finished, click OK.
    • Playback tab, select the playback device, click Configure, and then make sure the configurations are set correctly.

    If the sound settings are set correctly, and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to "Verify that an audio driver is installed" now.

    • Set Default.
    • OK to save your settings.

    Subwoofer in windows won't output any sound

    External subwoofer still not working!

    I've checked the Realtek control panel and it shows the external subwoofer volume at 100% but still no sound. I have ensured that it is plugged into the correct jack. It's a 2.5mm jack, whereas the other audio port (which can be configured for mic or headphones)
    is 3.5mm. The external subwoofer is a SonicMaster and it came with the laptop when I bought it. It's nothing special, but the sound is lousy without it.

    I don't understand the 5.1 or 7.1 audio output. Is that referring to a driver or something? Where would I check that? I know the hardware has the capabilities as it was working last week before I performed a fresh install of W10.
