Successful login from unknown IP on "Recent activity viewer" -- should I be concerned?

This past week Oct 16, 6:36PM I received an authentic MS email alerting me to a successful login attempt. I immediately changed my password and sent a command to log out of all devices, but have not yet turned on two-factor authentication. The password for my MS account was an alphanumeric string of 14 characters, no recognizable words. A password strength checker tells me it would take millions of years to brute-force.One specific question I have which I've not resolved by googling: was this likely only a login to my Outlook email, or might it be an intrusion on my desktop which of cour

  2. Activity page shows successful logins with wrong IP

I check the Activity Page every day. Many lines are not OK: they have“Successful Login” with a wrong IP, always the same wrong IP. I click on “Secure your account” on every wrong line. There are also lines that are
OK, with my correct IP. The wrong IP is the same on every wrong line. But when I secure on one wrong line, this does not secure the other wrong lines. The first line has “Successful Login” with the wrong IP. There is no “Secure your account” on the first line.
There is “This is your current session”. Impossible to secure the first line. I have to redo all the same lines every day. If I close the Activity Page and I reopen it immediately, I have to redo all this work: Everything has been un-secured. I have contacted
MS, changed my MS password, and made complete virus checks many times. I have only one computer desktop, with wires, no wireless, no phone, no other devices. I totally disconnect my computer and all the wires and cables every day. I am alone. I do not share
my computer with anyone. I have Windows 10. I update every day. I have subscribed to MS-Office 365. I update every day. I have Internet access by a TV cable company. What should I do?

  3. Activity page shows successful logins with wrong IP

Hi Rob, I thank you a lot for your answer. The name that I have given is really my name. You can see what I have posted on the Web site “Research Gate”.

The wrong IP address without the last 4 digits is

    2607:fcc8:bfc0:72:7812:f6fd:a7a0:xxxx

This morning, I reconnected all the wires and cables of my desktop computer, I restarted it, with my new Microsoft password, I first checked my Activity Page. I clicked on the first line, that has: “Less than 1 minute ago”

In the first column there is

    Device/platform

    Windows

    Browser/app

    Microsoft Edge

    IP address

    2607:fcc8:bfc0:72:7812:f6fd:a7a0:xxxx

In the second column, there is

    Session activity

    Successful sign-in

    Successful sign-in

    Successful sign-in

    Successful sign-in

In the third column there is the map and

    "This is your current session."

and there is no “Secure your account”

On the second line: “4 minutes ago: wrong IP, my MS-Windows account alias, one “Successful sign-in”

and I clicked on “Secure your account.

Third line “Yesterday 8:05 AM”, almost the same, but with my MS-Office-365 alias.

I had secured it yesterday, but it was un-secured.

Fourth line: “Yesterday 7:19 AM”, same as third line.

Fifth line: “Yesterday 7:19 AM”, finally my correct IP.

Sixth line, “Yesterday 7:14 AM”, and with my correct IP.

Seventh line, also “Yesterday 7:14 AM”, and with wrong IP. I had secured it yesterday, it was unsecured today.

I closed the Activity Page. To re-open it, I had to login with my MS password and code. It was the same, but all the wrong IP was un-secured, and I had to secure each again. With best regards, Jean-Claude

Activity page shows successful logins with wrong IP

Hi Rob, I am very grateful for your reply. The wrong IP starts with 2607:……… I do not know how to find information about IPs. It is on the first line on my activity page, with: 1 minute ago, Device/platform [Windows], Browser/app [Microsoft Edge],
IP address [2607:………]. Account alias [my correct account alias], Session activity [Successful sign-in], This is your current session. The second line has my correct IP. After the second line, it is random, but either my IP or the wrong IP 2607:…... With best
