Windows 10: Successive endnotes use double spacing instead of single spacing between them

Hi, I originally posted this in Windows using Windows 10 under versions and Windows Systems under Windows Topics. I was forced to choose the latter topic because the list did not have one that appeared to be more closely related to my problem, so I'm not sure I posted in the correct place, especially since I do not seem to be getting the quick response I got to my first post. Because of these factors I've decided to do a cut and paste to repeat my second post here to get more eyes on it. Viewing File Explorer as single spacing instead of double spacing

File Explorer (the [unnecessary] new name for Windows Explorer in W10) displays files and folders in a double-space format, which means the screen can only show half as many lines as it could if it were single spaced. How do I change it to single space?

No, the File Explorer in W10 continues to display file names in

a double-space format, such as the one I am typing

here. There is no way that I can find that will enable displaying them as

single spaced lines, and the one suggestion I got was not useful.

Kind of a useless "feature" don't you think, especially if you are

searching through a long list of files for one particular file.

Similarly, dropping color coding for all Office applications now deprives me

of a real feature that I have used to great effect for years and through several

versions of Windows and Office Outlook, especially in organizing Notes by categories, and Contacts by type.

Lastly, now I notice in Outlook Emails, the Delete, Respond, Read/Unread Toggle, Move, and Followup icons are no longer with each email (where there is PLENTY of room) to the right-hand margin, where one has to mouse over to them. Really? Perhaps someone
could forward these observations/complaints to the graphics people who keep churning out unnecessary changes.

And I would really like to get these three elements back. I suppose some folks don't need the (for example) color coding, or mind (for example) the double spacing file lists. Why not put these decisions in the Options popup?

Double space in mail app not replaced with a period and single space

I have set Windows to replace two spaces with a period and a single space in the typing section of settings. But, in the mail app, it does not do so. Instead, it does nothing after I double space. I cannot find any specific settings for the mail app in
this regard. It works correctly in the mail app in Windows 8.1.
