Windows 10: Sudden Critical Alert - How do I contact Microsoft support?

My husbands computer suddenly came up with a critical alert page and a voice message that keeps repeating "your computer has alerted us that it has become infected with a virus or spyware". I provides an error number and asks us to contact Microsoft at the toll free number, but the number does not work. Is this a scam? It says if we close the page, it will be forced to disable the computer. Any help?

Is this for real??? For about the last month I get a white box that reads Microsoft critical alert Error # 3657c84f1df674. A mans voice says -this is a critical alert your computer is infected and will steal all my data...critic alert 268b3...if I don't
call or if I shut down my system it will disable my computer...

If not how do I remove this

Contact names in contact list

I have a list of contacts in my outlook.live account that are listed in numerical order by office number, e.g. “101 Larry” “Smith” is the first and last name for Larry Smith in office 101. This method has always resulted in a perfectly numerically ordered contact list, until recently. Now, when I add Larry to my contact list, Outlook only shows Larry’s email address, no name, no office number.

Any help / suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. I’ve tried using customer support before, not looking forward to that ordeal again.

 

Critical Alert!

To prevent such fake and unwanted pop ups/warnings/alerts , please do get a good blocker extension for your browser.

Personally I use and recommend uBlock Origin.

In addition be careful not to download anything from shady sites and/or sources.

When in doubt: run some scans, get rid of fishy browser extensions and installed programs, reset browser etc.
