  2. Ping spikes during the day

    Hello ParsaAsghari.

I'm Daniel, a Microsoft user like you. It is a pleasure to help you today. I know how frustrating it can be for you, but I will do my best to help you Sudden Ping/Latency Spikes in Windows 11 netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no... :)

I understand you are experiencing ping spikes in games during the day.

I have a question, do you use internet over Wifi?

Here I was having the same problem and it seems that windows gave a random ping spike when using WIFI because it was looking for networks at a regular interval.

    I suggest you try this:

Open CMD as administrator and use the command:

netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-fi"

That way it will stop seeing new networks and avoid the ping spike.

And if you want to undo just use this command:

netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wi-fi"

    ____

I hope I have helped you, have a great day.

    Take care!

setting netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="WLAN 2" solves the problem for a short while. However after some time my wi-fi loses connectivity and unsurprisingly will not reconnect. So turning off autoconfig is no permanent solution.

I have tried the script from

    Redirecting

and to my surprise it works for a short period. After some hours, a day at most, the problem returns. Also after restarting. Or after connecting to a VPN and disconnecting.

Diagnostic startup / clean boot (msconfig - only windows services) and no autostart processes in task-manager as suggested here (Redirecting) has proven to be unsuccessful at remediating the issue.

I have even bought a new wifi usb adapter, same result.

And an inPlace upgrade of Windows 10 also proved to be no help.

Thus far I seem to be out of options. Any advice?

Sudden Ping/Latency Spikes in Windows 11 netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no...

High Ping Due to WLAN Autoconfig

I've been trying to solve this issue for a while... basically when I have wlan autoconfig enabled (netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes) after a while using my computer (gaming, browsing internet etc.) my ping shoots up to 999ms consistently and does not
come down. My ping wont return to normal until I turn off autoconfig, turn on, then turn back off. Once I do this process I no longer have any latency issues and my ping well remain around 50ms for hours on end.

Here are some things I've tried...

    1) Windows 10 fresh install

    2) Multiple network cards

    3) Router firmware reset

    4) Google DNS

Nothing has worked thus far, what I'm doing is essentially a band-aid fix and I have to follow this process every time I logon to my computer. I have no idea how to fix the actual problem - it has been reported on a bunch of different forums & this fixes
it for them but it's obviously not the root cause.

It's also worth mentioning that this problem only effects my computer, on my phone and multiple TVs I do not get the same latency issues which leads me to believe that it's something windows related but I have no idea what since I literally did a fresh install
& still having the same issue.
