Windows 10: Suddenly can't connect my Samsung S9 to PC any longer

For last few months Im not able to connect my S9 to my PC (file transfer). 1 times out of 100 I can get connection for a while but then message appears that device is not recognised by Windows. Did try everything including change of USB ports and visit to repair shop were i was told there is no damage to the phone. I can connect my other Samsung J4Plus without any problems.

Any ideas if there is a solution to that?

Just to clear, you did remove that driver first, right? As far as I have ever seen, that error message is always a driver issue, but I guess that there is a first time for everything.

Do you have another PC available that you can try to connect the S9 to? If it works on another system then you at least know that it is not the S9.

thanks again I can't see reinstalled Samsung drivers in device manager. As for the rest I have tried everything I could find on the net, S9 is not recognised on my wife's laptop or my work PC running Win7. What puzzles me is that sometimes (very rare recently) Windows does recognise this phone
