Windows 10: Suddenly, Windows 11 is giving notification: "Microsoft account problem" and wants me to login.

Suddenly, after updating to "2023-08 Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB4023057", I keep getting a notification after boot/login for a "Microsoft account problem" and requires that I login to Microsoft.I have my Windows 11 Pro machine set up for local logins 3 and use Thunderbird as my email client Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo. I don't login with Microsoft/Hello... And I don't want to! I just close the bogus notification because there is no problem with the account, since Thunderbird can login and access Hotmail. Cannot link/add my Microsoft Account to Local Account

Hello Ken,

Im using Win10 Build 1607 with all latest update.

I also run all related troubleshooters:

• Windows Update
• Store Apps (says i have to login in my microsoft account but thats the problem, i can't)
• Microsoft Accounts

No Problem found. Also the suggestions from Microsoft didnt helped.

 

Help Removing Microsoft Account login

I am not sure if you want to switch to a local account instead of your Microsoft account, or if you want to keep your Microsoft account but login automatically instead of having to type the password.

You might be face this issue if the Windows login credentials are removed from the Login Credential manger.

I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.



a. Press Start button and type "Credential Manager".

b. Click on the arrow near the "Windows cached credentials".

c. Check whether the Windows login credentials are listed over there.

d. If the credentials are listed, I suggest you to click on "Remove from vault" and follow the onscreen suggestions.

e. Now check for the issue.
