Suggestion for masking HDD spin up times in machines with SSD system

I frequently have to wait for my HDDs to spin up when I want to browse the folder hierarchy with Windows Explorer but I have an idea that would eliminate this. Is there any reason that a record of the folder hierarchy of each drive couldn't be stored on the SSD (as an option which could be turned off if your SSD is small or whatever); that way I'd be able to navigate my folders whilst the drives are still spinning up? If I reached my destination before the drives have spun up then obviously I still have to wait a little before my file is opened but I'd still be waiting less time.

    :)

Lag Spikes with SSD and HDD

I've got a laptop running Windows 10 with programs and files split between a SSD and HDD. Windows is, at least supposed to be, solely on the SSD. While doing something like typing, selecting a browser tab, moving in a game, there will be a lag, I'll hear/feel
the HDD spin up, and then the lag will stop. This happens repeatedly during usage, and is always followed by the HDD spinning up. I don't know what I can do to fix this issue. My suspicion is Windows is loading something cached or stored on the HDD, but is
used to the SSD speeds for most operations, so it times the load as if it were loading off the SSD, but is actually loading off the much slower HDD.

  3. Hard disks spin down incorrectly despite 'Turn off hard disk after' set to Never

I'm having this issue, as well, just after installing Windows 10. The system partition runs on an SSD and I have my file archive on HDDs in RAID1 mode (Intel Rapid Storage). The HDDs are spinning up every time I access a file, which dramatically increases
    the risk of a failure.

There needs to be an urgent fix for this issue.

Check your setting in Power Plan, and increase the time or set it to "never".

I don't know and have not heard of such an option as you mention.

I don't want my HDDs to never stop spinning; that's a waste of electricity and an unnecessary load on the bearings.

I wasn't asking whether anyone had heard of the option I described; I was suggesting it as a possible feature.

Sorry, was just trying to address what I thought was a question.
