Windows 10: suggestions for updating Dell Inspiron 580S from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

I'm trying to update a Dell Inspiron 580S desktop computer from Windows 7 (SP1 with latest updates) to Windows 10. I downloaded the Media Creation Tool; it ran ok until partway through installing Windows 10 when it stopped with the message "This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10... No action is needed." Following the suggestions in a July 9 2019 post to this forum (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/this-pc-cant-be-upgraded-to-windows-10/81728203-c765-4a9e-a31f-99d07613710f) I tracked down Dell's list of computers compatible with current versions of Win10. The Inspiron 580S isn't on the list.


Any suggestions of how I might proceed from here (other than "buy a new computer")?

Windows 10 Home on Dell Inspiron 3847 will not update to 1709


I have two identical boxes with same issue- Windows 10 Home will not update to 1709. Here are the hardware specs & steps taken to fix the problem:

Dell Inspiron 3847
Windows 10 Home ver 1607 OS Build 14393.1944
Intel Core i5-4460 3.2G
12GB RAM
Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600
1TB SATA HDD

It downloads and attempts to install the latest updates then several hours later reverts back to where it was.
So far:
- installed & ran Windows Update Troubleshooter & taken the steps that it suggests
- renamed Windows 10 upgrade folder and downloaded the latest updates
- deleted the software distribution folder & downloaded/installed again
- ran windows cleanup and deleted all those files
- tried stopping & disabling the windows update service to prevent it from continuing
There is licensed software so a clean install is out of the question.

These PC's are installed in a restaurant and when this happens the whole place shuts down during lunch & dinner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

Windows 10 results in repeated Internal Power Failure in Dell Inspiron


I upgraded a couple of 5 year old Dell desktops (an Inspiron 580 and Optiplex 790) to Windows 10 with no problems. I did make sure to upgrade each pc to the latest bios (A07 for the Inspiron 580 and A18 for the Optiplex 790) before attempting to upgrade to Windows 10. Both started with Windows 7 Home.

I also upgraded three Dell laptops, an Inspiron 1545, Inspiron 17r 7110 and an Inspiron 17r 5737. All with no problems. Once again, I made sure that each was upgraded to the latest Dell bios before attempting the Windows 10 upgrade. The 1545 had Windows 7 Home, 17r 7110 had Windows 7 Pro and the 17r 5737 had Windows 8.1 Home before the upgrade.

 

Is it time for Windows 10 already?

I can't get update KB3035583 on my windows 7 SP1 laptop, also I was missing the optional language packs updates, I have tried "resetting" windows updates Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Help Forums and I have tried stopping and restarting the windows update service, did not help.
Would anyone have a suggestion on how to get this KB3035583 update? It's genuine windows 7 SP1 home premium.

Edit: Is this windows 10 upgrade only for people who bought (a computer with) windows 7 SP 1?
