Windows 10: Suggestions to fix my cousins laptop?

My cousin told me that his laptop no longer wirelessly connects to his home wifi, and only works if connected via ethernet. He asked me if I could fix it. I first noticed that some icons on the taskbar at the bottom (Microsoft Edge, Store and one more I can’t remember) had no picture, and were just blank (but acted as normal if clicked). Two other programs pinned to the taskbar had their icon, so the taskbar just looked strange. Secondly, of course the wifi was not working. After connecting, it would just drop out, and in the bottom right the wifi symbol would go grey and have a star (*) in the corner. It would just not hold a connection. I followed an online guide and did some command prompt work (flushing dns and resetting winsock etc) but it did not work. The next thing was to uninstall and reinstall the network driver, so I Win+X, Device Manager, and uninstall the Intel CA-??? wireless driver. The online guide says restart computer to reinstall it, but the driver did not reinstall. I went online to try and download it from Intel’s website. The laptop has Microsoft Edge. When downloading the driver, the pop up at the bottom appeared with run/save, but neither run nor save functioned. Just nothing happened whatsoever when I clicked run or save. I thought instead I’ll download chrome (that’s what I’m familiar with) but the run/save problem reoccurred. So now, I have a laptop that has missing icons on the taskbar, can’t hold a wifi connection, and microsoft edge which does not download any files (so cant even download chrome!). Is there a better solution than factory resetting? Thank you!

[HELP]Image recovery issues

Guys i am trying to fix my cousins Asus Eee netbook. It has a backup image file that is partitioned on the hard drive but when I go to use it the app will run through a few steps and stop. It is running Vista . Any suggestions?

I liked hp pavilion 360x series..suggest similar in other good brands..

I don't know why everyone hates hp so much? I have used 3 laptops from hp in last 10 yrs..latest is hp envy 17 3d , 4.5 yrs till now, first time encountered hardware problem now, that got fixed too with routine service...might need to replace fan later. But no major issue till now.. working like new even now
