    SUPERantispyware

A Google search shows it as part of Inno software and confirmed in your screenshot. It isn't part of windows but an installer for windows programs. Have you install an Inno product for any reason and is it listed in Programs and Features, or Apps and Features
(depending on your Windows 10 build). If it's in the list of installed programs and you didn't install it then I would uninstall the whole package and then do another scan.

The following was tagged by SUPERantispyware as PUP.Loadmoney/Variant this morning while I was doing a complete scan. I canceled the scan because the file name suggests that it might be something that came with Windows upgrade recently. Can anyone tell
me if this is safe to be removed?

That was a lot of fun today with SAS croaking! In case you didn't get caught in it.....

Around 3:00 or so, there was a def update (13943) that crashed SAS and triggered the send a report and all that. Attempts to restart from that screen all failed. I checked it on 4 different OS's, all failed.

The def update prior was 13941, which was fine. Maybe 13938 depending on when you last checked.

around 3:30 or so they issued a new def update to 13944....one up from the croaking one. It fixed the problem.

Only updated 4 of the categories/definitions. Now all is fine.

I tend to update and run a scan with it once a week. I dont leave it running as MBM and Bitdefender handle that.

I don't leave it running either. Only people who use it's real-time function (paid version) would do that. This was just a wacko quirk they had today with a sick definition file. SAS is not an AV. It's basically just a cookie and PUP finder.

SAS is still around? I consider it as good/bad as Spybot or Adaware, obsolete. Purely signatures based. *Sleepy

  9. Is SAS safe for Windows 10 version 1709? Does remove anything from the OS itself that it should not?

SAS is not an AV. It's basically just a cookie and PUP finder. Yes, it is safe. Current version is 6.0.1250. It has no effect whatsoever on any components of the OS. None. This to answer your question, not as any comment on it's popularity.

SuperAntiSpyware: I started using SUPER AntiSpyware back when I was still on Windows 7. I am not fond of tracking cookies and wanted to intercept any malware that came my way. I also run AVG. I am not a Internet maniac but each week SAS would find and remove roughly 200 cookies. Nothing else....
