  1. Suppressing driver updates for Wi-Fi adapter results in update error message 0x800F0248

It appears I have successfully suppressed the update of my Wi-Fi drivers, only to be bombarded with an update error 0x800F0248 on each update event. If I suppress something then I would only want to see an error message if I ask to, not by default. The update error message is -:"There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x800f0248"Why not just give reason for the error as below? But only if I ask to see it...0x800F0248SPAPI_E_DEVICE_INSTALL_BLOCKEDThe instal

  2. Windows 10 Wi-Fi Adapter Issues after 17134.254 Update

    Hi Denzel,

Since the issue on your Wi-Fi adapter started after installing the latest update, then this could be a driver-related concern. The current driver may not be compatible that's why your wireless connection keeps disconnecting. For us to sort this out, I suggest
updating the driver of the Wi-Fi adapter. Please follow these steps:

    1. Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Network adapters category, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, then click
      Update Driver.
    3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    5. You may also check the Wi-Fi manufacturer's website for its latest driver in case Windows didn't find a new driver.

If the issue persists, then you may opt to roll back it's driver.

    1. Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Network adapters category, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, then click
      Properties.
    3. Click on the Driver tab, then click Roll Back Driver.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    5. Click OK once done.

If you continue to have this issue even after performing the above steps, please let me know by replying to this thread. The system will notify me so I can get back to you as soon as I can.

    Regards.

  3. Wi-Fi errors (Windows 10)

I'm currently troubleshooting a HP laptop (HP G62-a10SQ to be more specific). The problem is that it doesn't want to connect to any Wi-Fi network. It leaves me with the generic error "Can't connect to this network." I've tried these steps so far

    • Restarting the computer
    • Flushing DNS
    • Releasing and renewing the ipconfig
    • Uninstalling the driver
    • Reinstalling the driver
    • Reseating the Wi-FI module
    • Checking Windows Update for any drivers
    • Updating the driver in Device Manager
    • Temporarily removing my Wi-Fi encryption
    • Trying to connect to a different Wi-Fi network outside of my network
    • Probably more troubleshooting steps I can't remember atm (I will edit the post if I remember anything)

Suppressing driver updates for Wi-Fi adapter results in update error message 0x800F0248

    Wi-Fi option

    Hello,

Several reasons can be the cause of this issue. To help us identify the cause of this problem, we suggest that you follow the methods below:

Method 1: Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter. This troubleshooter finds and fixes common issues with Network Adapter Settings on the computer.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Troubleshooting, and click on
      Troubleshooting from the results.
    • Click on Network and Internet.
    • Under Network, click on Network Adapter.

Method 2: Update your network and Wi-Fi drivers. An outdated or incompatible network adapter driver can cause network problems.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select
Device Manager from the list of results.
    • In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.
    • Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select
      Update Driver Software
      > Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select
      Close.

If the issue persists, we would like to know the following information to pinpoint the cause of this issue:

    • Are you using a laptop, tablet or desktop computer?
    • Are you using an external Wi-Fi adapter?
    • Have you made changes to your system before experiencing this issue?

Keep us updated with the results.
