    Surface 3 Bluetooth disappears from settings.


    Hi,


    I have purchased two new Surface 3 laptops. Both have Windows 10 and the latest updates. The issue is the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse will loose the bluetooth connection every day. The only way to resolve the issue is to restart the PC.


    Bluetooth disappears from settings - then you loose connection.

    Bluetooth is hidden in device manager - loss of connection.


    Troubleshooting completed:

    Hardware troubleshooter - Does not resolve the issue. Message - does not recognise the hardware.

    Update bluetooth drivers - updated to the latest, but does not resolve the issue.

    Re-install bluetooth drivers - does not resolve the issue.

    Bluetooth Support Service - Running and Automatic selected.

    UEFI bluetooth settings - change status on/off serveral times, does not fix issue.

    DISM.exe - Cleanup-image options did not resolve issue.

    Check for updates - did not fix issue.

    Check bluetooth settings - bluetooth is missing.

    Bluetooth mouse - nothing is wrong with the mouse as it reconnects after restarting the computer.

    Re-adding the bluetooth device in settings - does not recognise bluetooth devices.

    Brand new image with latest updates and drivers - does not resolve the issue.

    Device Manager - scan for hardware changes - does not resolve the issue.

    Device Manager - power management settings, have disabled all - does not resolve the issue.


    To resolve the issue I need to restart the laptop. The bluetooth issue occurs everyday. I may have to restart the computer twice a day for it to recognise the bluetooth device in device manager and settings.


    I am assuming by now this is a known issue and should have a fix.


    I have read many of the Microsoft fixes and can't find the resolution. Is there a fix?

    Arc Bluetooth mouse not working properly with Surface 3

    Experienced same issue, disconnecting Arc Mouse then reconnect worked fine, but not mouse interaction.

    Below steps worked for me:

    • Remove all Bluetooth connected devices, including Surface Type Cover and Surface Pen.
    • Disconnected the Surface Type Cover then reconnect. It will reinstall tand connect the device.
    • Then Add Bluetooth devices including Surface Pen and last but not least Arc Bluetooth Mouse.

    Everything works fine again.

    KB3163018 removes Wifi/Bluetooth from Surface Pro 3

    I installed KB3163018 on my Surface Pro 3; after restart, neither Wifi nor Bluetooth were available. I uninstalled the update, but Device Manager lists only a Surface Ethernet Adapter under Network Adapters - the Marvell Avastar has completely disappeared.
    Bluetooth is not shown.

    How can I fix this issue? My Surface now has no Internet access.
